Well, actually she has a blog, she just doesn't blog often, or should I say ever. -- Anyway, I was working on my Baby Cable Vest and told her that I was going to feature the neckline on this crocheting blog because the neck has to be single crocheted. This sparked somewhat of a debate between us. She says the crocheted neckline of a vest is not worth featuring. Don't think of her as being rude, we are good enough pals so she can express herself to me like that.

I can sort of see her point, sort of . Since this blog hardly gets any action, I will be posting the crocheted neckline. Here is how the neck looks so far. I will be sewing the shoulders together this evening and completing it. I should be posting the final neckline sometime next week.

The yarn by the way is Noro Silk Garden. I would like to get crocheting in at least twice a week. I'd like to post at least twice or perhaps three times a month. I still don't feel he's entirely with me. So, if I lost myknitting mojo, what do you think that did for my crocheting mojo. Right... There was at least some knitting going on. In terms of crocheting, nada.

While unpacking a couple of weeks ago I found this Arachne. I crocheted this last year out of Bernat Soy. I sewed in the ends the other day. It is very soft.

I've been looking at hat patterns to start on. As soon as I take a break from all of my little knitting projects, I'd like to try making a hat. I'm in the mood for something whimsy. This scarf is made out of a shiny cotton by Caron. I found the stitch in an old magazine and adapted it to a skinny scarf. It goes like this.

The stitch is called a V-Stitch
(Double crochet, chain 2, double crochet)

ROW 1

I chained an odd number (I think it was 21 and dc'd in the 6th chain from the hook.

*I skipped the next 2 chains, then V-stitch in the next ch
repeat from * all the way across then turn.

ROW 2

Chain 5, dc in 1st chain 2 space, *V-stitch in the chain-2 of the NEXT V-stitch. Repeat from * all the way across.
You will end with a V-stitch under the turning-ch. Turn and repeat Row 2 over until you have the length you want.

See, I told you it was easy.

A Fall Shrug

This is the Hook & Weave Shrug by Jennifer Orr.

Hers is a shawl I thought about making but never got around to it. I've never done any hairpin lacing. I have heard that it's very easy.

If I take on this project, I will probably make it a bit shorter. Although she appears to be dressed up, I wouldn't have a problem wearing this over a shirt or turtleneck for work.

One thing though. You may remember them. Beautiful, aren't they !

I like all three but am especially partial to the first and second scarves. In terms of crocheting scarves, the shell stitch is my favorite. Years ago, I had crocheted them in no less than a dozen colors. I sometimes regret giving them away.

As I go into this journey of familiarizing myself with crochet again, I will try not to crochet too many shell stitched scarves.

Okay, I did it...

I actually finished a scarf. I haven't crocheted in a while and this shell stitching came out a bit smaller than I'd planned but all in all, It looks really pretty over the black blouse. I'm pleased.

I worked this scarf from the Blue Sky cotton group. The color is not showing up as it really is but this is their periwinkle.
