Another Easy-As-Pie Scarf

Okay, I admit it, I'm hooked on, addicted to and in love with scarves. This scarf is made out of a shiny cotton by Caron. I found the stitch in an old magazine and adapted it to a skinny scarf. It goes like this.

The stitch is called a V-Stitch
(Double crochet, chain 2, double crochet)

  • ROW 1
  • I chained an odd number (I think it was 21 and dc'd in the 6th chain from the hook.
*I skipped the next 2 chains, then V-stitch in the next ch
repeat from * all the way across then turn.

ROW 2

Chain 5, dc in 1st chain 2 space, *V-stitch in the chain-2 of the NEXT V-stitch. Repeat from * all the way across.
You will end with a V-stitch under the turning-ch. Turn and repeat Row 2 over until you have the length you want.

See, I told you it was easy.

A Fall Shrug

This is the Hook & Weave Shrug by Jennifer Orr. I have been thinking about crocheting a shrug for the winter. I am considering this one perhaps in a navy.

OAYPP, I'm In...

Well, I haven't been crocheting much lately but for this event I will.

I think I'll sign up for that scarf event and do a minimum of 1 (ha-ha).

For the entire list of Team Overly Ambitious Yet Plausibly Possible (OAYPP). See Carolyn's blog. She is updating the list daily.

Wish me luck !!!

Hairpin Lace Shawl from Vogue Magazine 2007

Hers is a shawl I thought about making but never got around to it. I've never done any hairpin lacing. I have heard that it's very easy.

If I take on this project, I will probably make it a bit shorter. Although she appears to be dressed up, I wouldn't have a problem wearing this over a shirt or turtleneck for work.
One thing though. It does look as though it would catch on to a lot of things with it being a bit loopy.

Oldies but Goodies...

These scarves are from the Vogue Knitting Spring/Summer 2005 issue. You may remember them. Beautiful, aren't they !
I like all three but am especially partial to the first and second scarves. In terms of crocheting scarves, the shell stitch is my favorite. Years ago, I had crocheted them in no less than a dozen colors. I sometimes regret giving them away.
As I go into this journey of familiarizing myself with crochet again, I will try not to crochet too many shell stitched scarves.

Okay, I did it...

I actually finished a scarf. I haven't crocheted in a while and this shell stitching came out a bit smaller than I'd planned but all in all, It looks really pretty over the black blouse. I'm pleased.

I worked this scarf from the Blue Sky cotton group. The color is not showing up as it really is but this is their periwinkle. It's still very pretty.
